As the sole designer that oversees the Relish product within the ezCater ecosystem, I oversaw the employee facing marketplace app for Relish as well as the portal that company admins use to manage their account. I also oversaw the internal Relish backend system that allowed for ezCater's management of our corporate clients.
During my time at ezCater I worked on many initiatives that spanned the employee facing e-commerce app, the admin portal where companies manage their account and our internal tool that facilitates all of the above.
In our admin portal, our team focused on adding self-service functionality across the board that was traditionally handled internally through many different methods. This included the company set-up processes and ongoing account management that were traditionally handled by our internal Account Executives that were taking time out of sales to do tasks that were better suited for the actual company admins. Over the six months of this project, we launched numerous releases that gave our customers more autonomy, freed up sales to get more customers, and set up our next big project which would allow customers to sign up without ever talking to sales in the first place (PLG).
The employee app had been long neglected and I wanted to prioritize a UX overhaul as well as address many business needs to improve our overall revenue with the product. I worked closely with UX research and Analytics to create our utilization metric that allowed our team to see the gaps in employee ordering within the platform. While, the app facilitated a lot of this, there were other methods such as timely notifications, tweaking our algorithm that suggested restaurants and admin tools that exposed employee metrics that paired with this initiative. The future looks bright and if we even get halfway to our projected outcome, it will mean millions of dollars in previously missed revenue.
